TRAINER  - Ken Nicodemus, MA.  : kjnico@fitstop-lab.com

"Working with clients and helping them train to reach their physical best is extremely rewarding. Examining the heights one can reach or trekking around impasses is a challenge I look forward to."

Ken's background includes a Masters Degree in Applied Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University.  His prior experiences include over ten years working as an exercise physiologist, project manager, & VP of Operations, developing and delivering programs centered on comprehensive physical assessment and health promotion.  He's worked nearly three years conducting rehabilitative exercise sessions for patients and athletes at a local Sports Medicine Clinic.  Ken has instructed college level courses in clinical exercise science, methods of weight training and general fitness.  He started a company in 1998, the Fit Stop Human Performance Lab, and has spent the last two years conducting independent exercise studies for private companies. His expertise is in the area of exercise adherence and overuse injury prevention.  Certifications include AAFP Post-Rehab Technician and CPR.  Additionally, Ken has worked with a number of personal training clients over the years and has listed some of their comments regarding his services below:

“I have worked with Ken as my personal trainer for 5 years.  I am a physician and have been very impressed with his professionalism, level of expertise in exercise physiology, sport injury prevention and rehabilitation. .. Ken is personable, not critical but able to maintain steady support and encouragement.”

Adaline Corrin, M.D.

“For my 53rd birthday my husband gave me a month’s services of this remarkable physical trainer, Ken Nicodemus, and since then, I have continued to give myself this life-changing gift.  He is successfully committed to making exercise enjoyable—no small challenge given my historical “allergy” to any exertion beyond walking.  I find him wise.  He pushes with gradual increments, respect of pain, a quiet easy manner, and lots of steady encouragement.”

Dorothy Johnson, M.D. F.A.A.P.

“Hi Ken, thanks for all your help and time on Monday.  It (i.e., cardio-metabolic assessment) really was one of the best experiences I’ve had in training.”

Dale Mauger , Marathon runner.

“Your participation as our provider for blood screenings, hydrostatic weighing, and fitness assessments have been a real highlight of our annual Wellness Week activities and Health Expo.  I really appreciate your professionalism, and hard work… I respect your knowledge, your integrity and your commitment to this industry.  It’s a privilege to work with you and I look forward to offering more of your programs to our employees in the years to come.”

Jill Dorris, Wellness Director at Perfect Health Program and President of the San Diego Wellness Coalition.
