HOW TO ENTER

To enter, purchase a special priced fitness test. To be eligible, participants will need to purchase the early bird test online before the expiration date (Fbb. 1, 2008- early birds), after that you have until the March 12th, 2008 to enter for the special rate of $150). To be eligible for prizes you must complete your test(s) before the closing date of May 1st, 2007.

CONTEST RULES:

  1. The contest is open to all and only DMCS participants. Identification must be produced on testing date. Employees of the Fit Stop Human Performance Lab are excluded from this contest.
  2. The prizes are not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded.
  3. Decisions of the contest judges are final - no substitutions will be available.
  4. In accepting the prize, the winner acknowledges that the Fit Stop may not be held liable for any loss, damages or injury associated with accepting or using this prize(s).
  5. There are 3 contest categories; The Biggest Engine, Age Group Fittest and Most Improved. All categories except the Most Improved require the purchase and participation in only one Comprehensive Fitness Test. The Most Improved category winner will need to have participated in a pre and a post Comprehensive Fitness Test.
  6. Category Descriptions:
    • The award for Biggest Engine will be given to the male and female with the highest VO2Max score as determined from metabolic analysis during a graded maximal treadmill exercise test. Scores will be measured in terms relative to body weight or ml/kg/min. Athletes with significant health risk factors or are over 45 years of age will not be able to participate in max testing since ACSM guidelines requires a physician present for testing. Note: it is a vary rare occasion that individuals over the age of 40 in a contest open to all age groups would be able to win this category of contest. This is the only category of testing where participants over 45 will be excluded. Metaboilc testing will be provided submaximally in the remaining categories.
    • The awards for Fittest Age Groupers will be given to participants with the combined highest percentile scores in comprehensive testing. Testing includes:
      • Cardio-Metabolic Exercise Profile - Scores will be determined from the (VO2 at Lactate Threshold + the Metabolic Equivelant at the LT speed and grade) / 2 = work capacity at Threshold.
      • Body Composition Profile - Percent body fat scores will be determined froma 3-site skin fold analysis. Ranking will be according to lowest body fat % measured. An optional add-on bodyfat% determination through hydrostatic weighing is also available at an additional charge.
      • Muscle Endurance
        • Push-up testing -the most pushups without break in form or cadence wins.
        • Pull-up testing - Most pull-ups following an 8 second protocol without break in cadence.
      • Flexibility - Inches beyond toes in Seat and Reach testing.
      • Health Risk Profile - lowest Cholesterol / HDL ratio
      • Percentile ranking between contestants will be combined with 2 additional percentile numbers added to the top Cardio-Metabolic Score for each age group.
      • Age group categories will inlcude a male and female group for the following age groups:
        • < 35 year olds
        • 35-49 year olds
        • 50 and over
    • The Award for most improved will be given to only one participant. Improvement will be measured according to the positive test score changes from pre-test to post-test.
  7. Important Dates (2008):
    • March 12 : All participant must purchase their fitness test before March 12.
    • January 30th : Participants who wish to compete for the Most Improved will need to participate in their first fitness test by this date.
    • May 1st : All participants will need to have completed their fitness test by this date.
  1. Scheduling Procedures: DMCS purchasers of the Fitness Test Special will be contacted for scheduling by phone or through email. When you purchase your test online be sure to include your phone number and email address.
