The IWS team has an extensive background in the design and development of
health clubs and onsite corporate fitness centers. We can offer several
alternative approaches to developing effective fitness facilities depending on
the needs and ability of each individual client.
The first on-site alternative is to create a mini-station that allows
employees with repetitive stress injuries (RSI) or who are at risk for RSI to
exercise while at work.
1. Injury Abatement and
Micro-Rehab Station
(10-200 Employee-Size Company) (Accommodate 2-3 employees)
An office-sized room that can accommodate work-related injury prevention and
rehab. Often can include a stretching area, multi-purpose bench with dumbbell
rack and weights, and a multi-purpose wall pulley or stretch cord area.
Modality treatments such as ice & heat packs, along with various prevention
and rehabilitation tools are made available. Additionally, video tapes that
instruct on rehab protocol, proper exercise technique, and work-related or
sports injuries are provided on TV/VCR using a ceiling or wall mount.
2. Mini-Gym/Rehab Station
(10-1000 Employee-Size Company) (Accommodate 8-10 employees)
In a room the size of a small conference room. It would accommodate the Micro-Rehab
Station in addition to a small Mini-Gym. This would include 2-3 bikes and
treadmills or other choices of CV equipment, a couple of multi-stack weight
machines, and another multi-purpose bench and wall-pulley system. Also included
is an expanded stretching area and another TV/VCR to play stretching tapes at
fixed intervals and to encourage stretching.
3. Stand-Alone Exercise
Facility
(100-5000 Employee-Size Company) (accommodate 20-30 employees)
This is the largest of the fitness facility alternatives. This room would
include one 8-12-station CV module, one 8-12-station muscular module,
free-weight area, stretching area, micro-rehab station, and an optional
aerobics-type area or room that can double as a classroom.
